Why Thai people do not need Vietnam visa for Thai passengers? What are conditions so as to enter Vietnam without Visa?
The Vietnam Embassy affirmed in May 2009 that Thai citizens who are holding ordinary passports are eligible to enter Vietnam without Visa for various purposes. In addition, this visa waiver policy is valid for Thai citizens for 30 days as maximum. This policy has been effective based on the bilateral agreement on visa exemption between Vietnam and Thailand since 2009. Therefore, Vietnam visa for Thai passengers is not obligatory at all Vietnam boundaries. By this, Thai passengers are able to enter Vietnam via sea-port, airport or crossing over landing borders with both tourist and business purpose.
Not only that, any Thai passport holder who is holding an APEC card is able to stay Vietnam up to 60 days without Vietnam visa for Thai passengers legally.
Furthermore, there is good news for both Vietnamese and Thais citizens, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his counterpart Prayut Chan-ocha have agreed not only in visa exemption but also in various fields.
Conditions to adapt the Visa waiver policy:
+ Stay in Vietnam less than 15 days.
+ Have not come back within 30 days from the last exit date of Vietnam.
+ Obtain a valid passport which is more than 6 months.
When Thai passport holders need Vietnam visa for Thai passengers?
+ Japanese applicants who have a plan to stay more than 15 days or will enter and leave out of Vietnam for many times.
+ Obtain a passport which is valid less than 6 months.
+ Come back Vietnam within 30 days from the last entry date.
+ Who want to work in Vietnam. In this case, they are able to apply working visa from 3 months to 12 months.
How many ways to get Vietnam visa for Thai passengers?
There are 2 legal methods in order to gain Vietnam visa for Thai passengers:
